Sourdough Naan Bread

  • 450g plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tsp caster sugar
  • 120g sourdough starter
  • 150ml milk
  • 210ml yoghurt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  1. Mix 450g plain flour, 1 tsp baking powder, ½ tsp salt, 2 tsp caster sugar, 120g sourdough starter, 150ml milk, 210ml yoghurt and 2 tbsp oil to form a dough
  2. Knead on a dry surface for 10 minutes
  3. 10 minutes
  4. Cover and leave to rise for 2 hours
  5. 2 hours
  6. Heat the oven to 230ºC with a bread stone inside
  7. Knock back and divide the dough into 6 equal pieces
  8. Roll each piece out and form into a tear shape, measuring roughly 25cm by 13cm
  9. Put them on the stone in the oven, two at a time, for 3 minutes (they should puff up in the oven)
