Sourdough Pizza

1x | 2x | 3x | 4x
  • 500g strong or plain white flour
  • 300g sourdough starter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 230ml water
  • pasata, mozzarella and other toppings (such as mushrooms, peppers, goats cheese, olives, etc), to top
  1. Heat 230ml water so it is warm but not too hot to touch
  2. Mix 500g strong or plain white flour, 300g sourdough starter, 2 tbsp olive oil in a bowl and then mix in the warm water
  3. Tip the dough out onto a dry surface and kneed the dough for about 10 minutes (when ready the dough should be smooth and slightly transparent when held up to a light)
  4. 10 minutes
  5. Pre-heat the oven to the hottest it will go with a pizza stone inside (at least 250ºC if possible)
  6. Place the dough in an oiled bowl and cover with a damp tea towel for 20 minutes
  7. 20 minutes
  8. Split the dough into 5 equal chunks (each will form a pizza)
  9. One at a time, roll the pizza out on a well floured surface, transfer it to the preheated stone and top with pasata, mozzarella and other toppings (such as mushrooms, peppers, goats cheese, olives, etc), to top
  10. Place at the top of the oven and cook for 10 minutes
  11. 10 minutes
